Here for You During Difficult Times
We continue to work around-the-clock to follow UK Government guidance, and carry out all necessary plans to ensure Haddington Care Home is safe and secure. Our team prioritises residents’ wellbeing, and do all they can to maintain a sense of normality for all of our residents and their guests. Our ethos is to ensure that all residents feel comfortable and enjoy being a part of our community, where they are supported and cared for day and night.
It is important that meaningful contact is supported and maintained for residents. There are no limits on how often residents can receive visitors but it must remain safe and manageable for the care home staff and residents themselves and we ask that these are pre-booked. Anyone who visits a care home should take a LFD test, you will be asked to show proof of the recent negative LFD test before visiting. This includes family, friends, children over the age of 12 and visiting professionals. You may take the test at home before you visit or the home can help you to carry out the test when you arrive.
A Fluid Resistant Surgical Mask (FRSM) must be worn wherever possible, and Infection Prevention and Control measures should be followed as instructed by care home staff. Residents, family, and friends are able to plan outings or activities from the care home and are able to do by working together with the care home to arrange.
For prospective residents, to have a tour of the home, it is necessary for this to be pre-booked and for evidence of a negative LFT test to be presented prior to entering the home. This applies to all guests within your party.
At any time, the COVID-19 regulations and guidance from the Government, National and Local Healthcare Agencies may change. For further information, please click here or contact the Home Manager directly.
We offer a comfortable and safe environment where residents can enjoy and take full advantage of group living and independence, without the pressure or burden associated with running a home. Residential Care is delivered to residents on the ground floor of our purpose built care home, where residents receive the finest possible care at all times, day and night.
All of our staff are given informed level Dementia Care training, which provides the baseline knowledge and skills required by all workers in health and social services settings with an emphasis on understanding, awareness and positive interactions. Our Care staff receive skilled level dementia training, to ensure they have an enhanced range of knowledge and skills relating to different stages of the journey experienced by those with dementia. We work hard to maximise the potential of each resident enabling them to lead a fulfilling and comfortable life.
Our experienced and dedicated staff enable us to nurse those with physical disabilities, those who need end of life care, those with high dependency needs, and those who become infirm. Delivered to residents on the second floor of our purpose built care home, residents receive the finest possible care at all times, day and night. With bedrooms fitted with niche facilities such as profiling beds and hoists, you can feel confident that all care requirements and well-being are met.
Respite Care is delivered to residents in our purpose built care home, where residents receive the finest possible care at all times, day and night. Our person-centered approach to care means we look after our residents as a whole, offering an opportunity to give residents their independence back, in a safe and supportive environment; helping to relieve caregiver stress one day at a time.
Life As You Envision It
Each of our floors has an inviting sitting and dining room, intimate drop points where residents can stop for a bit of quiet time and a team of dedicated staff on hand to support residents as best they can. We also offer a café, a fully equipped hairdressing salon, and a fabulous outdoor terraced area accessible from the ground floor. As well as fantastic views from the rear of the home, there are opportunities to participate in gardening activities. Our Activities Coordinators are on hand to ensure every day is different, and encourage residents to take part in group activities, such as exercise, arts and crafts, quizzes and board games. Staff support residents to maintain links in the community, by visiting local cafés and shops as the high street is nearby and within easy walking distance. We have regular visits from the local nursery children, which are enjoyed by everyone. We do all we can to make sure every day is as interesting and enjoyable as possible and that residents are able to live their life just as they envision it.
