When you stay with us at Haddington Care Home, we think that you should be able to make the most of every day. We encourage all residents to keep doing what makes them happy, whether it’s exploring local attractions or playing table tennis – we do everything we can to provide residents with a selection of activities in order to provide a joyful time.

Our Activity Coordinators make sure that there is always something to do, from arts and crafts to social outings and visiting performers. For those living with Dementia, we have a variety of activities and alternative therapies. We also organise shopping trips and visits to interesting places on a regular basis, and we have great ties to the local community.

A Varied Lifestyle

Visits to the local garden centre, museums and shopping centres, games such as bingo and quiz mornings, and music events are just a few of the activities offered at Haddington Care Home. We are lucky to be located in East Lothian’s Royal Burgh of Haddington, just a few minutes from the River Tyne so there are always lots of day trips and wonderful scenery to enjoy. Residents can also take advantage of our chauffeured minibus service to and from their desired destination.

With a varied activities and entertainment programme, every day can be enjoyed to the full at Haddington. All of our activities are scheduled on a daily basis, ensuring that our residents never experience the same day twice. We incorporate new activities as often as possible so that everyone in our community can look forward to something new and exciting every day.

We are delighted to offer a diverse range of activities and opportunities. From planned day trips that include shopping and tourist attractions, to activities that don’t even require residents to leave the comfort of their home, there’s something for everyone.

Residents and visiting family and friends can find plenty to do in and around Haddington; whether it is out shopping at Haddington Retail Park, the farmers markets or visiting the stunning gardens and parks nearby, there’s always an exciting day to be had.

At Haddington, we have many books, magazines, and craft supplies on hand just for when creativity strikes. Quizzes and jigsaw puzzles are also available if you’re looking for a mentally engaging or challenging afternoon. If you’re looking for something more sociable, you can look forward to wine and cheese evenings, as well as coffee mornings and afternoon teas.

We organise lots of events and activities for our residents because we want each and every day to be different and stimulating. We understand that it isn’t easy for residents to make the move into a care home and we want to make it as easy as possible for residents.
