Easter comes to Haddington Care Home
This Easter we had a community-wide event filled with intergenerational fun topped off with a special celebration for our very own Haddington Care Home Couple...
Joy and Connection
Easter brought our greater Haddington Care Home community together for a celebration filled with joy and connection. We started with Easter-themed arts and crafts where residents eagerly participated. To involve local school children, we launched the "Design an HCH Easter Egg" competition, receiving colourful and creative submissions. The winners were chosen through a vote by our residents and our wider HCH family on Facebook. We extend our gratitude to all participants.
In the spirit of kindness, we honoured the values of Haddington Care Home by recognising those who rely on food banks. Understanding the importance of every child receiving an Easter treat, we organised a collection for the local Lammermuir Larder Food Bank, receiving heartfelt appreciation for the donated eggs in the shape of a fruit basket which our residents thoroughly enjoyed.
Last but not least, we celebrated the remarkable milestone of Frank and Patricia, affectionately known as our 'Platinum Couple' as they marked 70 years of marriage. Surrounded by friends and family, they shared their secret to a successful and happy marriage...Patience and tolerance.
Our celebrations and activities provide our residents with opportunities to connect with people from different generations in the wider community. This fosters a feeling of inclusion and strengthens their bonds within the community. We continue to embrace these opportunities for connection and encourage our residents to engage in whatever way feels right for them.
