Respite Care

Respite care is a form of short-term care that provides those who are primary caregivers for a loved one with a well-earned break from their caregiving duties. If someone is recently recovering from an illness, injury or operation, respite care will enable the person to recover fully in a comfortable environment while our team of experts takes care of them.

Respite care is also available for those looking to trial our care home before deciding to commit to the permanent move. No matter how long someone may need to stay with us for, every person will receive only the highest-quality, personalised care until they feel ready to return to their normal lifestyle.

Residential Care

Residential care is offered to those who like spending time with like-minded people rather than living by themselves or their family’s home, where assistance is available to anyone who needs help with daily tasks. Residential care provides an active and fulfilling way of life for those who need assistance from a professional care team, but can spend time carrying out their hobbies with those who share similar interests.

Our care teams can assist with daily tasks such as washing, dressing, medication administration, and mobility. Residents receiving residential care can treat our home as their own and live each day the way they choose to, without the stresses of housekeeping chores such as cooking and cleaning.

Residents who require nursing care will be given the greatest standards of care and support possible at any time of the day and night. Our nursing team is dedicated to meeting all well-being needs and our rooms have equipment designed to aid someone including profiling beds, hoists, walking frames and nurse call systems.

Our qualified nursing team can support those with physical disabilities, long-term health conditions, critical illnesses or high dependency needs. Our staff are passionate about providing comprehensive, person-centred care that enables each resident to be happy and feel optimal comfort at our nursing home.

Dementia Care

Dementia is a neurological condition that affects those of an older age, including memory, thinking abilities and communication. Those living with dementia can continue to live a vibrant and enriching life each day with the right care and support by our loving team. We provide dementia-friendly activities each week within our activities programme. Our aim is to provide an ideal balance between providing assistance while also encouraging self-sufficiency.

At Haddington Care Home we treat every resident as individuals, as no two diagnoses are the same. Our staff receive on-going dementia training in order to provide effective dementia care to the varying types and stages of dementia we witness and ensure our residents are being cared for to the best of our ability.

We Strive to Provide a Fulfilling Lifestyle at Haddington

Just some of the activities that our residents thoroughly enjoy include pet therapy, arts & crafts, bingo, woodland walks, boat trips and sing-a-longs.

We take the time to sit with residents regularly to learn about their lives as well as their likes, dislikes and preferences so that we can cater to their overall needs. If residents want to spend their time doing their own thing, that is completely fine with us. We support our residents’ endeavours so that they can live a life that suits their needs.

Here To Support You During Every Step

Trying to find a care home on behalf of a loved one can often be an overwhelming situation to be in, and it can be difficult to pinpoint the method of care that’s needed for an individual. Examples of someone needing care could be that someone close to you is finding it difficult to upkeep their house on their own, or that they are showing signs of dementia or another health condition common in older people. We understand that each person requires a different level of care, that’s why we at Haddington carefully assess our residents prior to admission so that we can develop care plans suited to their needs.
