Sunshine, Smiles, and Support: Summer Fair Raises Over £500

Haddington Care Home recently held its very own Summer Fair, and we were lucky enough to enjoy some glorious sunshine on the day! Residents, families, staff, and members of the local community came together to enjoy a wonderful afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of summer spirit.
Thanks to the fantastic support and generosity of everyone who attended, we’re proud to share that we raised just over £500. These funds have been split between a local cause close to our hearts – the Friends of the River Tyne charity – and our residents’ activity fund, which helps us continue to offer enriching experiences and events throughout the year.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who made the event such a success – from those who donated prizes to those who came along and joined in the festivities. It was a brilliant day for a brilliant cause, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
The fair featured a wide range of stalls and activities for all ages, including a raffle, home baking stand, tombola, and garden games. Live music and refreshments kept spirits high, while our residents enjoyed chatting with visitors and soaking up the sunshine in our beautifully decorated garden space.
The involvement of the local community truly made the day special. Families, friends, and neighbours came out in full support, and many commented on the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Events like this are a fantastic reminder of the strong community spirit we’re lucky to have here in Haddington.
The funds raised for our residents will go toward future outings, entertainment, and meaningful activities that support wellbeing and social engagement. As for Friends of the River Tyne, we’re proud to support the great work they do in protecting and enhancing our local environment.
