Dementia Care

Dementia is a progressive neurological condition that affects a person in a variety of ways, such as memory, thinking and social abilities. Our residents living with dementia can continue to live their lives to the fullest with the correct care and attention. We strive to find the perfect balance of providing support and assistance regularly while encouraging independence.

At Haddington Care Home, we understand that every resident is different and that some people living with dementia may only require minor assistance while others much more. We will regularly assess residents to ensure the correct level of care is always provided.

We Are Here For You

Our home is regularly inspected by the care inspectorate who assess the quality of care in care homes throughout Scotland so that they meet high standards. It’s a good way of allowing people to know the quality of a care home when finding care homes for themselves or a loved one.

Knowing whether someone’s next step is to move to a care home can be a hard decision to make. It may be that someone is finding it difficult to manage their household or that they are showing signs of dementia and therefore needs extra support.

We understand that every person’s needs will vary to a degree that’s why we at Haddington carefully evaluate our residents and form a customised care plan. We welcome you to meet our experienced team to discuss your car needs. We want everyone involved to feel at ease so that the individual feels comfortable during their transition.
